Types Of Scarring - September 7th, 2009

There are a few different types of scars, some of which are common and some of which I’ve never heard of.  For example, there are ice pick scars that basically are long with jagged edges, and they are highly visible.  Boxcar scars often look like dots that are common to chickenpox.  However, of course they do not come from chickenpox.  Rolling scars have a rolling hillside appearance, and they tend to stick out significantly.  All of these particular scars can be quite disfiguring for many, especially when they are prevalent or group together in so many ways.  They are hard to treat, sometimes hard to prevent, especially if you have acne conglobata for example, and they tend to come with certain problems in otherwise undesirable ways.  Now generally speaking, people either use microdermabrasion or they have them cut out, which can cause further scarring of different types.  But before you go to those extremes, I would actually suggest using a good wrinkle or scar cream.  These will turn over the cells and in general terms help you to heal your skin and reduce the major signs of scars, sometimes even completely eliminating them.  You just have to essentially speaking know what you are doing.
