The Rosacea Cure - August 3rd, 2009

I have to wonder if acne rosacea can be cured.  They say that frankly it comes from bacteria, from all that good stuff, and it usually only hits in adulthood.  They call it a chronic disease.  But when they kill off the bacteria, it goes away, at least temporarily.  They generally burn it away, which is never fun and I think more invasive than it realistically needs to be.  But all in all, frankly, it’s still bacteria.  Why can’t an antibiotic treat it, or are they just holding back on us?  I mean very few bacteria are actually bad are harmful.  Over 90% are good and beneficial and even necessary to the body.  You need a specific antibiotic to treat some cases, and moreover you actually need a specific test to pick up certain types of bacteria.  They can cause the same basic symptoms.  However, the tests are completely different because the bacteria don’t come up on the same tests or respond all the time to the same treatments.  So wouldn’t it just be a matter of finding the right antibiotic to deal with it?  It seems like it should be that way to me, and maybe they just haven’t invested the time and money needed to find the one for rosacea, or maybe it’s more financially advantageous to sell others.
