We think about eating habits, and we think about acne. Some of us would like to think it has nothing to do with it. After all, it’s like obesity. You see that person eating nothing but junk food, and yet they’re as thin as a twig! The thing is that realistically, they are an anomaly just as the person who eats junk food and nothing but and yet has clear skin is an anomaly. You will very rarely if ever see an obese person who truly only eats vegetables and exercises constantly, and you will rarely if ever see a person who eats nothing but good foods, washes their face, etc, and yet has a face full of acne. Genetics and disease can only account for so many anomalies. Ultimately, not everyone is as honest as we think.

However, this being said, there is actually a scientific link that has been established between diet and acne. On the good side of things, they have discovered that foods rich in essential vitamins and minerals, especially A, C, & E are good for the skin. They have discovered that foods high in antioxidants kill off free radicals and are good for the skin. They have discovered that more water is good for the skin. So these are all things to consider.

But they have also discovered that an unhealthy diet can multiply acne problems. Yes, you can take medicines. But part of the treatment program for anything like this is to be proactive. They found that those who changed their diet to a healthy diet plan cutting out a portion of their fats, sugars, and milk products were able to see significantly greater results with the same exact acne treatment.

Yes, we like to think it’s the doctor’s responsibility, the treatment’s responsibility, and we look for some imaginary miracle cure to just about everything. But at some point, it comes time to take responsibility and realize that some things just won’t work out unless we take the steps necessary to help ourselves.

Is acne a medical condition? Well I wouldn’t necessarily say so, and yet there are plenty of rumors out there about the idea that you have to go to a dermatologist to treat it, you have to treat it like a medical condition. Well, the first argument I might have is that it may well be a medical condition, but so is high cholesterol. High cholesterol is usually treated even by doctors with diet and exercise. Do you really need a doctor to tell you that? I don’t.

But the second big thing I would point out is the fact that unlike other fields and other medical conditions, you can get the same treatments over the counter as you could get through prescription, with the exception of Accutane of course. Is acne a medical condition? Well it very well may be, but being a medical condition doesn’t mean it requires medical help.

The most prime example I know of this is a prescription called Epiduo, which actually bases all its advertising around the idea that you need a prescription and no over the counter medication will do. First of all, they mix two ingredients that according to experts never should be mixed due to greater complications, and second of all, they use a 2.5% concentration of benzoyl peroxide. That’s the smallest allowable amount, and surprise, guess who else uses it, just about everybody! In fact, one you might know quite well uses it, or rather quite a few: Proactiv and all its imitators!

If you are looking for the easiest way to get rid of acne, it’s not that you want a way out. But at the same time, you don’t want to spend hundreds of dollars, you don’t want to suffer skin damage, and you don’t want to search forever. All of these things are perfectly understandable. What is the easiest way to get rid of acne then?

You should drink more water. Yes, it’s that simple. Now this won’t get rid of all acne, every case of acne, etc. But it will certainly make a significant difference. If you fight acne by drinking more water, it will essentially flush out your body, and unless you are allergic to water, which is highly unlikely, you are not going to suffer side effects.

It may seem hard at first, but everybody should be drinking at least 8 glasses or 64oz of water every single day. Essentially, this equals out to two liters, which you can buy for example a good Fiji water in liter quantities, making it easy to measure, or you can just get a water bottle that measures it out for you.

Now if you are thinking you can drink just liquids such as sodas, it doesn’t work that way. It has to be water, because otherwise you have other things like sugar and caffeine interfering. But if you get that amount of water in your diet, it will certainly help you to quickly see the benefits and quickly clear up your skin for more beautiful and glowing skin in general.

Sometimes the best way to deal with your acne is to use at home methods. After all, then you don’t have to deal with side effects of chemicals, high costs, and otherwise problems associated with using other more complicated formulas, even if they are technically proven to work to some degree. The problem is often finding the home remedies for blackheads that actually work. I mean science does have something over your mom’s ideas in some cases.

This being said, there are home remedies that fulfill all the requirements. You can find them in your own home ideally speaking, they don’t cost much, and frankly speaking they are proven both scientifically and through personal experiences to show greater results. The best home remedies for blackheads will quickly eliminate them and target all of the major contributors rather than just one thing that they think causes it. You can find some of the best home remedies for blackheads that will subsequently get rid of future acne breakouts as well below.
1. Mint-yes, mint is actually known to contain menthol which can kill off bacteria
2. Oatmeal-you can find this in many professional treatments as well. But you use it as a kid in your bath to treat chickenpox for a reason. It eliminates the swelling, inflammation, redness, and otherwise soothes the skin, rebuilding it.
3. Aloe vera-aloe vera is a powerful essential oil that can naturally actually help you to eliminate bacteria. But it also accelerates the rate at which the skin heals itself.
4. Lemon juice-lemon juice is an incredibly powerful source of antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, antibacterials, antiseptics, and it tightens and heals your skin as it kills off bacteria, relieves you of excess oils, and gets rid of your blackheads for good.

There are no known causes for acne, only contributors, I really have to stress that. But this being said, there are 3 major recognized contributors, though there are a number of smaller contributors known to cause acne to some degree as well. This being said, they have nothing to do with washing your face or any of that. The first would be called a sebaceous gland. Basically speaking, it’s the glands that secrete oils that are meant to moisturize and lubricate hairs, skin, etc. When basically speaking there is excess oil produced, this leads to these sebaceous glands being blocked and therefore you having more acne. Second of all there are propionibacterium acne. Basically speaking, these are bacteria that are regularly found in the skin. But when too much oil is produced, they expand. They start to grow in numbers as well, because the oil creates a highly hospitable environment for them. Then they cause acne breakouts. And finally, there is what’s called irregular skin shedding. This means that normally speaking your skin should be shedding away dead skin cells as it goes. But instead, you get the skin cells staying on the skin and clogging up pores. All 3 of these things are major contributors to your acne problems in general.

Frankly speaking, one of the best ways to clear up your skin in some ways is using milk thistle seed. Milk thistle seed is a major detoxifier and helps the liver. So this being said, it naturally helps your skin in terms of the way toxins and the liver manifest their own problems. It has been suggested that it basically helps you to prevent things like hepatitis and cirrhosis of the liver. In addition, those who suffer from acne may naturally get rid of it just by getting rid of toxic buildup in the liver among various other areas. It can both clear up existing acne as well as preventing future acne from occurring in the first place. This being said, it is also apparently high in antioxidants. Antioxidants kill off free radicals, and free radicals in essence actually cause skin cell damage and otherwise, because they break down the skin cells, causing your skin to have less fight against bacteria, toxins, and the like. It is not just beneficial in these ways though. It is also healthy for the heart, for diabetes, for the digestive system, for cancer even according to some reports. So as you can see, milk thistle is quite a diverse element and quite frankly an easily found and cheap element in many various supplements. So it’s something to be considered if you are fighting acne, whether alone or in combination with other supplements in general.

Now if you watch Goldmember, you see about the “mole” and he of course has this huge mole on his face. I consider moles to often be worse than acne, because quite frankly you can’t just get rid of them with a really good “mole” treatment. Of course he has to focus entirely on the mole without necessarily meaning to, and frankly I find that in real life with acne, most people have the good sense not to, unless you’re talking to little kids, and quite frankly it’s such a common occurrence, that most people don’t make a big thing about it, even when it’s really severe. That being said, with a mole, the only way to really deal with it is like a birth mark that many have, you have to have it surgically removed. I mean it’s one of those things that has to happen. If you don’t deal with it this way, you will be like Enrique, you will just have it, and frankly these types of moles are more common from what I’ve found than we often think. So in some ways, it’s like acne scars. It’s one of those things that with moles, they look bad, but you have very few options and select options in actually getting rid of them.

Baby acne is a big thing among some people. Some people know about it and some don’t. Basically speaking, it’s completely natural, and oftentimes they find that it’s actually caused more by the presence of the mother’s hormones still in the baby. Generally speaking, you just have to keep the skin cleansed and protected, basically treat it like any adult case of acne, and then it will go away over time on its own. Some people have of course taken infants to the doctor worrying that it was a sign of some bigger problem. But in all reality, it’s not a big deal at all. Baby acne is just like adult acne, it’s not serious, it’s not like acne conglobata or otherwise. So if your baby has baby acne, just remember to use a gentle cleanser, probably the same bath solution that you are using anyway. Do the things you would do for example to prevent diaper rash, and it will definitely extend more to that particular area. Baby acne is definitely a problem. You just have to know what you are doing and not panic about it. It’s something that happens quite often, and it won’t last months or for that matter years like some other acne related problems.

Now I’ve noticed that there have been some serious lawsuits against the makers of Yaz and Yasmin lately. They talk about heart problems and otherwise problems that quite frankly every single birth control method out there warns against. You are at a higher risk for example if you smoke among other things. But it happens either way. This being said, Yaz has actually been one of the most popular birth control methods used for acne. It has been used in various capacities, and quite frankly speaking, it has been used for more severe forms of PMS that afflict some women more than others. It has been known to balance out the hormones which quite frankly helps you to achieve other results and benefits that you think about. Yaz is still one of the best birth control related ways to deal with your acne. It still has various ways to achieve the results that you want. However, of course, like any birth control pill, you still need to consider all the risks and possible side effects before you get into it, as the lawsuits have obviously shown at this point. Well, it’s mostly that people probably didn’t take the risk factors as seriously as they should have. But realistically, even if you’re not in a risk group, it should all be considered.

If you suffer from a vitamin deficiency, chances are you are going to suffer from acne, regardless of what that particular deficiency may be. It happens to the best of us. But this being said, vitamin C is one of the few vitamins that can help you to improve your skin and get rid of your acne, even if you don’t happen to be deficient. Now if you are, you are definitely going to suffer acne. But even when used in higher amounts, vitamin C can still be extremely helpful. It can be found in various foods including oranges of course, but also just about every other fruit. Strawberries are actually extremely high in vitamin C. This being said, basically speaking, vitamin C helps you to control your skin’s natural oil production, keeping it in check. It also helps you to improve the repair and function of your skin so that you don’t suffer scars, inflammation, infection, or wrinkles among other things. It works as a powerful antibacterial to kill off acne causing bacteria, anti-inflammatory, and for that matter antioxidant to kill off harmful free radicals. It can also of course strengthen the immune system. This being said, the average adult should have at least 1000mg of vitamin C per day.
