Bechet’s disease, it afflicts people generally of Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, or Far Eastern descent, except apparently in areas such as Japan, Korea, and Western countries for some reason. It is the “Silk road disease.” It generally has an onset stage of 25-30, and frankly its results are not so good. It starts with ulcers. These can appear on the skin, in the mouth, and on other parts of the body making it somewhat similar to acne. So that’s definitely not fun. But it also affects the eyes, and they can use MRI’s to determine the connected nerve damage. Unfortunately, at this time, the tests are not actually 100% accurate, and they can definitely miss it. But they give you a basic idea of what you’re dealing with and frankly what you can do about it, and if they do diagnose you correctly, of course you can start dealing with it and start addressing it in general terms. But it’s definitely not a pretty disease and not good for the skin at large. If you suffer from ulcers in general or any of the other generalized symptoms of Bechet’s disease, you should definitely consult with your doctor to essentially speaking see what’s going on and deal with it.
